What AI Actually Does When You Ask It a Question?

So now a days we all use AI for our work, education, and sometimes for our daily life, but do you know how AI could answer all of questions without any hesitation? Its almost sounds like a human is writing behind the scences. But once you break it down, It's a lot simpler than it feels.

AI Can Not Think, It Predicts

The core idea is Al can not think like humans. It predicts the next sentence based on patterns they learned from huge amount of resorces. For instance, when we give a prompt to chatgpt, cloude, gemini etc they predict instead of think like human brain.

Imagine it like the autocorrect in your phone keyboard but more powerful. Your phone guess the next word based on what you write usually type. Al as well does that same thing, in a massive scale by reading all the huge chunks of online books, articles during its training.

So when you ask AIWhat is the reason behind doomscrolling, it is actually generating an answer based on everything similar it has seen in the internet.

From where it gets the information

This is also why AI can sometimes get things wrong or make things up. Usually AI's sentences have a particular length and sometimes they use hevaily ornate language and at the same time in a same paragraph it incorporates simple, basic language. Kind of fight of Romantic era's language and Reinasance's era language trying to co-exist together. AI does not perform it on purpose it right predicting and taking data from anywhere it can, and sometimes it does not match the reality.

Why It Feel So Human

AI writings feels so convincing because it is trained on humman writing. It picks up the human tone, structure, even our habits of explaining in a cohensive manner. But it is not because is can feel you emotionally; it is really good at mimicing the pattern of a helpful, clear answer.
